Dining room makeover

My dining room needed a makeover, it was very dull and boring! I wanted a fresh coastal look so I decided to put wainscoting under the chair rail. My husband was a good sport and did it for me. He measured the wall space and  marked equal sized rectangles. We used trim molding which is a less expensive way of doing it. With a nail gun he nailed the molding in place. Once he was finished I filled in the holes with Elmer's wood filler then I painted the wall white. The color I chose for above the char rail was oat straw by Benjamin Moore. I love it!

I found this fabulous rug on Rugs USA It's the perfect color. It also compliments the mirror which has the same design. I fell in love with these beautiful abaca chairs from TJ Maxx and trust me they were a steal! They really set the coastal scene. I'm still looking for the perfect white chair pads! Fresh white window treatments and bamboo roman shades pull it all together for a beautiful coastal feel.

The mirror was a beige color and didn't stand out too well so I painted it white.

I love to accessorize! Choose things you love as long as they work well with the room! I tend to group things in three's which is a good rule of thumb in design.
