DIY Coastal Compass Table

I'm giving my living room a makeover by adding  pops of navy blue throughout the room! It took me a while to decide what I wanted to do with this accent table. After scrolling through the internet looking for inspiration from coastal  web sites I finally found the perfect thing!

I had the perfect blue paint from a previous project.

After I let it dry for a few hours I used chalk and a ruler
to mark out my project! At least if you mess up it will come off easily! I played around for a while till I got it the way I wanted it! You can use anything to draw the circle. I used a side plate!

Once I got it the way I wanted it I painted it and used stencils to mark the letters! It's not perfect, but I just left it because I was afraid I might have made it worse!

Next step was to rough it up very lightly with sand paper to give it a worn coastal feel! You can see a little of the original color in some areas which I like!

I love how it turned out! Now to work on the rest of the room! Waiting for my new rug to come! I'm excited!

 Close up!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. That table is a find! The metal work around the sides is fun and the compass you added to the top makes it that more awesome! I added a compass to the tops of our tv trays. Its a funky touch for their plain jane look.
