A Nature Inspired Christmas

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! Now onto Christmas my favorite season to decorate! I've gone for a natural look this year!

Try something different, I used a barrel planter instead of a tree skirt, It was quite a task keeping the tree balanced so I had to stuff pillows inside to keep it from falling down, but.....yes, it fell, a few times!

The light was perfect!

Wrap little gift boxes in brown paper to keep a natural feel! Bring the outdoors in by using freshly cut foliage for color!

I fell in LOVE with this barrel! I found it in Ross for $25!
For my garland I twisted three strands of wool together!

My daughter made these cute little burlap doves! One looks very angry! Ha ha! All you do is draw the shape of a bird and cut it out, then place it onto the burlap, pin it and cut around the pattern. Sew all the way around, but before you close it up add a little stuffing, add your favorite ribbon then finish it off! I found these little buttons in Walmart. We just hot glued them on.

Two turtle doves!

These chalkboard ornaments are from Marshall's. They look great on the tree!

My bench was red and I really wanted to use it in front of the fireplace so I spray painted it with rustoleum's spray paint and I love it!

This cute little bird cage was on clearance from Ross for only $6!

Onto the mantel!  I downloaded four chalkboard prints from caravan.com for $5. I used the Christmas tree chalk print for the mantel which was only $1:20 @ Office Max. My husband made the frame with some leftover wood and for the back we used a quarter inch plywood! I hot glued green velvet ribbon around my glass tree to add more interest.

I love my shell tree candles! They came in a pack of two for $6:99 @ T J Maxx.

I found these amazing gift tags in Marshall's.  They are so cute!

Have you been naughty or nice this year?

You just have to love my wee snowy owl! Is it not the cutest!
I found the burlap tree, owl and sleigh from Marshall's.

My husband constructed this frame and I downloaded this print from Caravan.com.

 I hope I've inspired you!
Thanks for stopping by!
 Have a great week!
Shirley.
