Diy Christmas Pillows

A few weeks ago I found these sweaters, fabric, napkins and a plaid skirt from the thrift store. I had been looking for the perfect cable knit sweaters forever and I finally found them. All of this, plus the hurricane vase and two white candle stick holders which are on my mantel cost me a grand total of $20!

I've been like a little elf, sewing pillow covers like it's my job! Ha ha! I am so glad I'm done and very pleased with how they turned out. Below you see one made from the sweater, fabric and skirt.
See how easy and inexpensive it was to make this heart shaped wreath seen below, typically seen in Scandinavian Christmas decor!

Here are the steps I used to make the stenciled pillows. I printed out a picture of my favorite stag head and then used letter stencils for the other two. I sewed bells on the corners of each one.  I used fabric paint, which only costs 50 cents from any craft store.

I used this tutorial from Pinterest for the pom poms.  http://www.adventuresofadiymom

I used the napkins and some left over grey fabric to make the stag pillow.

All done! A total of 10 pillow covers! Not bad for $20 worth of fabric! I was able to achieve this because I used painter's canvas for the backs of each cover, except for the small cable knit and the plaid pillow cover.  I used the sleeves to make the little cable knit pillow and added a button, seen below under the mantel.
