Today I'm sharing an easy tutorial on how to make your own chicken wire frame.
To get started you will need a staple gun, wire cutters, chicken wire, and wood. I was lucky to have the wood from an old project and a friend at work had given me some left over chicken wire. I bought the keyholes in the craft store for $7:50, so basically it cost me $7:50. You can find the wood and chicken wire at your local hardware store.
Cut your wood to the size of frame you want then place the sides together, add some hot glue then staple them together. Not the classiest way of doing it, but it works for me and I love that it's not perfect.
I love that the wood still had nails in it. It gives the frame character.
Place the wire over the frame and start stapelling it to the wood. Stretch it out and finish stapelling.
Cut off the excess wire
I bought these cute keyholes for another project and just decided to hot glue them onto my frame. I love how they look!
OOPS! One is the wrong way! Oh well....Character! : )
All done! Simple, cheap and very cool! I found these cute clothespins in walmart and used them to hold the picture, I have to print out more pictures to complete the look.
Thanks for stopping by!
The gallery wall will be up on the blog tomorrow. Hope you will stop by and check it out. Have a great Memorial day weekend.
