Chippy Chalk Painted Tables

It all started with this coffee table!

When I bought this table, I could see the potential of it becoming very beachy/coastal. First I gave it a light sand, washed it down with soapy water, then painted it with  chalk paint. I made my own chalk paint! The recipe I used was 2 tablespoons of calcium carbonate, 1 tablespoon of water to 1 cup of latex paint! The paint color I used was the match to Annie Sloan's old white called SW Antique White 6119. I used a satin for this project. Here is a link to the comparisons for latex paint from  Annie Sloan It took 3 coats of paint! I sanded it with an electric sander and to finish it off I used Annie Sloan's clear wax. I absolutely love how it turned out!

I sold it to my friend, then she asked me if I could paint her side tables to match! I was a bit nervous, thinking they wouldn't turn out the same, but they turned out amazing!! I love how they look! They will go in her sun room! I can't wait to see!

Here is a before picture! I almost never got one!

The space underneath is perfect for a storage basket!

Don't they look amazing? If you have a piece of furniture that you were thinking of getting rid of, why not try to give it a new life by chalk painting it! You won't be sorry, It's easier than you think! These came out gorgeous if I say so myself!

Have a great week!
